As RTL Nieuws reported last week, Jehovah's Witnesses keep records of internal lawsuits against child abusers. But those things do not end up with the police. That is why victims are now asking for it themselves.
The thirteen people who were abused as children within the fundamentalist denomination want to know what is in the files. It may also contain confessions of perpetrators. Their lawyer, Nico Meijering, has ordered the organization to provide these documents. The victims want to be able to submit the files as evidence in criminal investigations.
