Thirteen victims of sexual child abuse within Jehovah's Witnesses have today requested their case file from the denomination. Possibly there are confessions of perpetrators.
As RTL News reported last week, Jehovah's Witnesses keeps records of internal lawsuits against child abusers. But those things do not end up with the police. That is why victims are now asking for it themselves.
The thirteen people who have been abused as children within the fundamentalist denomination want to know what is in the files. There may also be confessions of perpetrators. Their lawyer, Nico Meijering, has ordered the organization to provide these documents. The victims want to be able to submit the files as evidence in criminal investigations.
