To protect children with Jehovah's Witnesses, there has been a new policy document in the Netherlands since March 2018, called: The Biblical View of Jehovah's Witnesses on the Protection of Children.

This document is not completely new. There was already such a document for Australia and for the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Dutch document seems broadly a translation of the Australian version, albeit in a different order and with minor modifications. In each of these countries the relevant document was drawn up after there was reason for it. In Australia it was drawn up following the investigation by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, in the United Kingdom (and for Ireland) already a first version in 2011 following investigations by the Charity Commission. In the Netherlands, the appearance of the document appears to be related to conversations held by staff of the Ministry of Justice and Security with the national administration of Jehovah's Witnesses and the possibility of an investigation.
