A newly established foundation for abuse within the community of Dutch Jehovah's Witnesses received almost three hundred reports within six months. The administration of the Jehovah's refuses to enter into dialogue with the victims for the time being.
"We are seriously wondering if you are serious about the issue of sexual abuse within your community [...] We get the impression that you are avoiding contact with us," writes Reclaimed Voices in an open letter to the administration of Jehovah's witnesses. The foundation was founded last year after Trouw reports on sexual abuse at the Jehovah's Witnesses. Since then, according to the 276 foundation, reports have been received. A number that the Jehovah's witnesses themselves contradict.
